Award in Catholic Theological Education
Our second group of students are almost at the end of their second year of study. They have completed modules on the Old Testament, Sacraments, Liturgy, and aspects of Church teaching relating to Creation, Grace and Salvation.
Meanwhile, our first group of parish Catechists were formally commissioned by Archbishop Mario Conti at a Mass held in Our Lady of Good Counsel, Dennistoun, on 15 October. Over a dozen parishes will benefit from the expertise, confidence and knowledge they have gained from the course, and we look forward to working with them in the various endeavours they will undertake as time goes by. The catechists have also received their Course Award from the University of Glasgow in February.

LIMEX
Run by Loyola University in New Orleans, LIMEX offers a means of structured, guided study and learning, with options to undertake Certificate or Masters level courses. Past graduates have gone on to serve the Archdiocese in a vast array of capacities - in catechesis, youth ministry, school Religious Education, and liturgical ministry - as well as gaining a richness and depth in their own appreciation and living of faith.
A new cohort is forming with a view to beginning in the very near future. If you are interested in joining this project, please get in touch AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Applications will soon be closing.

CPD
It has been a hectic start to the school session for our new Advisers, Mary O'Duffin and Barbara Campbell, as they meet with teachers to support their work. This year sees the transition of all curricular areas in Scottish schools towards A Curriculum for Excellence, including Religious Education in Catholic Schools. This will form the basis of much of our school in-service work this year, together with discussions with Advisers and others from around Scotland as we assess how successful or otherwise the implementation is progressing.

CONGRATULATIONS
...to Rev. John Cairns, who has been ordained to the Permanent Diaconate by Archbishop Conti. John has been part of our team for a while, reviewing published resources and cataloguing our reading library, but will now join us more formally as part of his diaconal pastoral appointment.
ARCHDIOCESAN MASS FOR CHILDREN WITH ADDITIONAL SUPPORT NEEDS
Due to the extensive renovations being carried out on St. Andrew's Cathedral, the above Mass, which is normally held in June, will not be taking place this year. We hope to continue the tradition of this very popular Mass in the near future, so please watch this space!
