Evangelisation Fund

Evangelisation Fund

We are challenged to make evangelisation the principal objective of our mission. Our resources, including our energies, our buildings and our material resources should be directed towards this objective.

A fund has been made available within the Archdiocese of Glasgow to support initiatives that are explicitly aimed at this objective, initiatives that seek to evangelise.

What we support:

  • New projects with one off grant to kick start an evangelisation initiative

Who can apply:

  • Applications are invited from Catholic organisations, parishes or deaneries within the Archdiocese of Glasgow.

What we do not support:

  • Projects without matched funding
  • Direct salary Costs (other than a short term start up fund where it can be demonstrated that the salary in the longer term can be maintained from another source)

The Evangelisation Fund Committee will meet quarterly to review applications. The deadlines for application submission in 2024 are 1st January, 1st April, 1st July and 1st October. Normally you will receive a response within 6 weeks of these dates.

The Application Process

In order to avoid unnecessary work we have created a two-stage application process.

Stage One

The application form should be completed and submitted. Your application will then be vetted against the criteria. If it meets the criteria, then it will proceed to stage two. If it does not, someone will contact you personally by email or phone to explain why.

Stage Two

If your application proceeds to stage two, you will be asked to submit a more detailed budget for your project, along with details of your existing funds and bank accounts. We will engage with you personally on this to assist you with the production of the relevant information. This may involve a visit to your premises or a phone call.

Evaluation and Reporting

Please note, if your application is successful, you will be expected to report back to the Archbishop via the Evangelisation Fund committee after 6 months to share the joy of how people have been evangelised, how the initiative has progressed and what the impact has been, and how the money has been spent.
